Ingol Library were having an event with various activities including crafts,  knitting a very long scarf for Preston North End, activities for children and the Galliard Dancers dressed in Regency Clothes to demonstrate the type of dancing Jane Austin would have done, but don't dress like this on our Monday Club Nights! The dancers were Maureen & Martin, Alan and Jill and Albert and Kath.

Preston Folk Group Members demonstrated  the type of  dancing we do on our Club Nights.

Visitors to the Library enjoyed watching a dancing demonstration.

Members of Preston Folk Dance Club danced with visitors to the Library, and part of this dance consisted of clapping hands with your partner

What a great evening we had celebrating the 100th Anniversary of our Folk Dance Club.  We had lots of dances from our Club Callers and were entertained by The Royal Preston Morris Men with music by Stradivarious.  We also had a lovely buffet meal and sat and enjoyed it on tables of six.

Our lovely Cake, very tasty to eat as well as looking good.

18 December 2023

It was our Christmas Party dance on the 18th December, and we had an enjoyable evening with our Club Callers, Lynn, Jeff, Mac and Linda calling a variety of dances. We also had lots of food on the buffet.

16 April 2023

Jeff and Lynn, Albert and Kath tried to tempt people attending the opening event for the Arts Society to join us on the 17th April at our usual venue for a free Taster Session. Unfortunately the Mayor had a previous engagement so couldn't join us.

27 March 2023

We have various callers and it was Lynn's turn on Monday and it turned out to be a fun evening.

20-03-2023

It was Jeff's turn to call this evening and we enjoyed a variety of dances, it is always a nice feeling to meet up again on a Monday evening,.

29 November 2022

We  had our AGM last night and managed to get through all our business in 20 minutes so we had plenty of time to enjoy our dancing.

24th September 2022

We dance at Galloway Hall in Fulwood and they were having an Open Day on Saturday so that associations who use the hall could publicise them. Eight of our members went along to do a demonstration. Jeff called two three couple dances, Leaving of Liverpool and Merrymakers Jubilee and then called and danced for a square dance. We then got some of the people who were watching to join in some easy dances and after our half hour session we danced with the Circle Dancing Group.

July 2022

Some of our members joined with another group to take part in the Llangollen International Eisteddfod in July. Unfortunately it hadn't been able to be held in 2020 and 2021 for reasons everyone will know, so it was good to be back again as it is a great festival and all being well it is being organised from 4th to 9th July next year.

March 19th 2022

This was the last Saturday dance on the calendar for this season in our local area but Monday night dances will continue until 23rd May. 35 dancers joined us with DNA (Norman, Denise and Naomi) playing the music and Judith Veevers calling.

October 2021

We are getting used to being able to dance together and the dances are well supported and also it is a nice social occasion as well with being able to chat to other members.  The dancers are Albert and Kath, Mac and  Gloria, Eddie and Alan

September 2021

It was great to get back to dancing with other people. Some of us had been Zoom folk dancing and dancing with ghosts definitely wasn't as enjoyable! Mac called for our first two evenings of dancing. We had 18 at our first dance and 20 at our second, so well supported but some of our members were on holiday.

Vivienne organised a visit to Little Marton Windmill at Blackpool as part of our Summer activities. As a few people were on holiday we didn't manage to get the minimum number of 20 but with inviting friends we were able to go ahead with the visit. It was a very interesting talk and tour and some were brave enough to go up the steep steps to the third floor. The volunteers are very enthusiastic and told us about the history of the Windmill and there were displays of other Windmills in the area and an opportunity to see the mechanical workings of it.

Last night we held our Christmas Party, here are some photos.

On Tuesday some of us met up for some 10 pin bowling as part of our summer programme.

Last night we met up at Longridge Golf Club for a games night followed by a hotpot supper. Thanks Bill for organising! here are a few photos.
